Action: BIOLONG^® CR contains a vitamin C derivative with superior stability in formulations compared to straight ascorbic acid. The easily water soluble monophosphate ester of ascorbic acid is bio-converted into Vitamin C by phosphatases present in the skin. BIOLONG^® CR is a powerful in-vivo anti-oxidant and free radical scavenger but it has proven that its efficacy profile is by far broader. It works for a better looking skin tone. Ingredients: Vitamin C as a special and stable molecule in high concentration. It has a great antioxidant and revitalizing power. Promotes the synthesis of collagen. The antioxidant effect can prevent or delay certain types of cell damage caused by free radicals. Natural Hyaluronic acid, a powerful natural moisturizer. BIOLONG^® CR Amino-peptides, molecules that revitalize and rejuvenate skin. Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant vitamin with great power. Vitamin A, a natural vitamin with antioxidant effect. Niacinamide or Vitamin B3, a naturally occurring vitamin which promotes circulation and is useful in the treatment of acne. BIOLONG^® CR Serum reduce acne appearance, spots and rejuvenates skin
CR Serum contain a stable Vitamin C with numerous benefits for skin care. Vitamin C, under-used for some years due to stability hurdles of straight ascorbic acid, moved into the center of interest with the availability of ascorbic acid derivatives such as the more stable and easy to handle. Vitamin C is typically referred to as an antioxidant – especially in the combination with Vitamins E and A – and as an essential substance for collagen synthesis.

CR Serum – reducing the appearance of acne
Skin blemishes and acne are skin disorders not only experienced by teenagers but also by adults. The emergence of skin impurities and inflammation is complex and involves among many factors the bacterial colonization by Proprionibacterium acnes. Also the free radical induced peroxidation of sebum is considered to play a role.
Some studies using volunteers has shown that CR Serum significantly inhibits the UVA light induced sebum (squalene) oxidation by 30%. CR Serum very effectively reduced the bacterial count of Proprionibacterium acnes under physiological conditions.
Other studies further illustrate the potential of CR Serum to improve the appearance of skin conditions associated with pimples and inflammation. Volunteers with moderate to severe skin blemishes regularly applied a CR Serum twice daily on their face. After 12 weeks their skin condition was significantly ameliorated by 77% on average. The efficacy of CR Serum was superior than, 5% Benzoylperoxide, a widely prescribed drug for acne treatment.

CR Serum – for better looking skin tone
Vitamin C and some derivatives have been traditionally used as active ingredients to brighten the complexion because they are known to inhibit the formation of melanin. Studies have shown that CR Serum reduces the melanogenesis in primary human melanocytes by 57%. Age spots are another visual indication of aged skin resulting from UV light stimulated overproduction of melanin. A 3-month in vivo study on Asian skin has shown that regular use of a CR Serum resulted in a reduced color intensity of facial age spots. The overall skin lightening effect CR Serum was assessed as 25% by dermatological reading.

CR Serum – for visibly younger looking skin
Photo-damage of skin including premature skin aging is to a large extent caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS). Their generation and also the quenching of ROS in living skin can be quantified and visualized. UV filters already protect against UV-induced ROS generation. However, this first line of defense is not complete. In vivo antioxidants in CR Serum (Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A and Ferulic Acid) were shown to provide an additional quenching effect of ROS of almost 50% to a standard sunscreen formulation of SPF 8.

CR Serum does not only reduce the level of damaging free radicals but also helps to increase the skin firmness. Volunteers who had regularly used CR Serum experienced a firmer skin. This in vivo effect was supported by the additional finding that CR Serum promotes the synthesis of collagen I and III in human fibroblasts.
